Northern Connections Adult Learning Centre | Sharbot Lake Full-time 30 hrs/wk | Wage: Commensurate with experience | Closes Job Description With a main office in Sharbot Lake and a satellite office in Northbrook, the NCALC is a small not‑for‑profit agency that provides Literacy & Basic Skills training to adult learners to support their ability to seek and retain employment and increase their overall well‑being by increasing communication, numeracy and digital literacy skills. As Executive Director, the candidate will lead the organization as a thriving community resource supporting adult learners across the region by communicating a clear purpose, focusing the organization on its mission and ensuring smooth operations of the agency and its programs; ensure sound financial management of the organization, including diversification of funding sources; and act as the agency’s champion across the region and in the literacy and basic skills community. Requirements Understanding of the legal framework and requirements for not‑for‑profits and charities in Ontario; Demonstrated community leadership capabilities; Demonstrated management skills – staff and volunteer management, program management, project management; Demonstrated financial skills – fundraising, grant writing, preparing and managing budgets, and creating financial reports for the board and auditor; Excellent communication skills; Demonstrated relationship management skills.
