Crew HR is seeking an Executive Director for our client, The Climate Reality Project Canada. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Are you passionate about addressing the urgent impacts of climate change and committed to ramping up action toward a resilient future? Do you have a strong background in donor and government relations, with experience building trusted relationships and engaging donors around mission-critical priorities? Are you an enthusiastic leader with a natural talent for empowering teams and individuals to reach their full potential? Are you a master of fostering diverse networks through trust and long‑term engagement? Do you care about your team’s success as much as the future of our planet? Are you fully bilingual (English and French) and ready to join a powerful, world‑changing movement fighting for a better future? ABOUT THE CLIMATE REALITY PROJECT CANADA The Climate Reality Project, a nonprofit organization founded by former US Vice President Al Gore, is dedicated to leading a global cultural movement demanding immediate action on the climate crisis by using cutting‑edge communications and grassroots strategies to educate the public about the urgency and solvability of the climate crisis. The organization has branches in 11 countries, including Canada, and over 50,000 volunteer Climate Reality Leaders. Over 1,600 of those Climate Reality Leaders are in Canada. The Canadian branch was established in Montreal in 2008 as a charitable organization and has its own initiatives tailored to the Canadian context. We believe education is the key to the success of the climate movement. By spreading knowledge pertaining to climate science and solutions, and by supporting citizens on how to be effective communicators on the topic, we are empowering people to become impactful catalysts for change in their communities. This is why we are looking for a results‑driven, highly influential Executive Director to spearhead climate action by inspiring our nationwide teams and volunteers to maximize their impact and by enhancing our fundraising initiatives to support these efforts. THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF: You are passionate about climate action and wholeheartedly dedicated to a better future for our planet. You have demonstrated fundraising experience and a remarkable talent for developing imaginative, visionary, and winning fundraising plans. You love being the face and voice of an organization with a critical mission, and you’re always up for stepping into the spotlight when the need arises. Your strategies get results; you excel at inspiring people to take urgent action that directly contributes to world‑changing solutions. You have a wide‑rising network that’s growing by the day, and you are constantly engaging with new people to build relationships and your contact list. You are enthusiastic about mobilizing a network of volunteers across the country and fostering a community that can share their successes and approaches to climate action. You value working in an organization that is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. You know how to push the envelope as a proactive, energetic leader while staying true to the high standards of a renowned global brand. You are an action‑oriented strategic thinker who loves seeing plans and communities come together. You are an outgoing, inclusive, and highly energetic leader who cares deeply about the success of everyone on your team. You love coaching people across demographics and cultures and have a successful track record building collaborative, high‑performing remote teams. You have a soft spot for career planning with younger employees and love the feeling of empowering people to chase their dreams. You have the perfect blend of enthusiasm, maturity, and experience to help steer a global movement. You bring unforgettable positive energy to every situation while always focusing on results. You’ve worked alongside Boards and know how to navigate the ins and outs of corporate governance. High‑pressure situations don’t phase you; they energize you. You are bilingual and completely comfortable communicating in French and English. IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL BE: Maintaining positive and productive working relationships with the Climate Reality Project headquarters in the United States and the international Climate Reality Project community. Providing strategic direction and support for a diverse group of 1,600+ Climate Reality Leaders and a growing number of Community Climate Hub (CCH) and youth members across Canada. Preparing and implementing a fundraising plan to increase our organization’s financial resources, ensuring diversity of funding sources. Meeting with potential grantmakers, donors, key stakeholders, sponsors, and partners to develop new relationships and grow existing partnerships. Responding to national and global priorities, engaging effectively with partner organizations, and leveraging knowledge of federal politics and international initiatives to advance the organization’s mission. Developing organizational budgets and collaborating to prepare quarterly financial statements, ensuring program goals and targets are achieved and completed within budgets. Responsible for hiring and managing staff, developing both permanent and contract staff skills through appropriate delegation of tasks and ongoing development support. Managing the scheduling for Board of Directors meetings, preparing reports on organizational activities and financial health, for the Board's consideration and addressing ad‑hoc issues with the Board as they arise.
