Project Engineer - Conveyance Join AECOM as a Project Engineer in the Greater Toronto Area (Markham or Mississauga). This full‑time role focuses on delivering large‑scale municipal drinking water and wastewater conveyance projects, including planning, design, and construction. Job Description As the lead engineer for linear infrastructure, you will manage the design and construction of drinking water and wastewater conveyance systems. Your responsibilities include delivering quality designs, maintaining schedules and budgets, obtaining permits, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities Maintain technical knowledge of municipal water and wastewater conveyance infrastructure. Collaborate with project teams and clients to ensure design success. Mentor and lead non‑certified engineers (EITs) as delegates. Build strong stakeholder relationships through effective communication. Partner with project managers and discipline engineers to guide design delivery. Report on budget, schedule, and quality performance regularly. Select and justify local standards where conflicts arise, documenting decisions for stakeholders. Prepare technical reports, calculations, and design decisions. Draft technical specifications and tender documents; review design drawings. Conduct technical quality reviews of deliverables. Coordinate design efforts across disciplines. Perform periodic site visits during design and construction. Ensure project continuity from design through construction. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience designing and constructing municipal water and wastewater projects (or equivalent). Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario, or willing to register within six months. Preferred Qualifications 8+ years of experience in conveyance work for drinking water and water treatment facilities. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams. Technical or project‑management experience in the Greater Toronto Area. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with strong report‑writing ability. Additional Information Canadian employment authorization sponsorship is not available. Compensation: CAD 82 000 – 130 000 per year, based on qualifications and location.
