Iris's client, one of the world's largest financial institutions is looking to hire a Sr. Java Developer for a long-term contract opportunity.


Our client is one of the world's largest financial institutions, serving individual consumers, small and middle market businesses, and large corporations with a full range of banking, investing, asset management, and other financial and risk-management products and services. It is a leading provider of global corporate and investment banking service.



Position: Sr. Java Developer

Location: Toronto, ON

Duration: Long Term


Must Have: Java, AWS, Messaging, and Banking Industry Experience.


Basic Qualifications

  1. 10+ years of experience in coding, application development using Java, Spring boot, Spring framework, REST Services, JavaScript, Apache, FIX.
  2. 7+ years of experience in Relational Database development in SQL Server, Oracle, DB2 or equivalent
  3. 7+ years of experience in integrating with high speed messaging systems like Solace, Kafka
  4. Proven capabilities in effective management of tasks, multi-tasking, delivery focus and hard working
  5. Ability to meet application needs without sacrificing deadlines and quality
  6. Ability to collaborate and work effectively within a global team
  7. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree.

Suggested Qualifications:

  1. Experience of AWS : EC2, Lambda, Glue, RDS S3
  2. Experience with Kafka, Solace, AMPS
  3. Experience with Shell scripting and Python a strong plus
  4. Cross Capital Markets and/or Investment Banking experience is a strong plus.
