Volunteer Opportunity Details Volunteer Opportunity ID: 2507 Description of Duties Is this the year you commit to a future without breast cancer? Help lead a team of dedicated volunteers in organizing the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure in Winnipeg. The Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) is seeking leadership volunteers to help plan and execute the Run for the Cure. When you become a committee member, you will be honoring the tens of thousands of women and men diagnosed with breast cancer each year in Canada and directly contributing to breast health awareness and breast cancer research in Manitoba. Along with the other volunteer committee members, you will work collaboratively with CCS staff to ensure that the systems, national procedures and standards for the Run for the Cure are implemented and that the goals of the event are met. Must be 18+ to apply and complete the Canadian Cancer Society code of conduct. Register here: Qualifications Proven experience in volunteerism at a committee leadership level Strong planning, organizational and delegation skills Excellent written and verbal communication Fundraising experience an asset Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word and Excel Must be 18 years of age or older with a driver's license and access to a vehicle Skills Gained / Related Careers Contribute to the Society's vision of creating a world where no one fears cancer. Further develop your skills in leadership, communication, strategic planning, community events, fundraising and volunteer coordination. Expand your network of community and corporate contacts. Work collaboratively with other volunteers in the community to support Canadians affected by breast cancer.
