Topics will include urban forest inventories, nursery production, arboricultural techniques, urban woodland management, urban forest health, urban forest administration, urban dendrology and urban forestry research. Note: Summer session course/activity. Estimated Course Enrolment: 15-20 Estimated TA Support: N/A Class Schedule: Late April to early May Sessional Dates of Appointment: 1 May 2026 – 30 June 2026; please note that this position includes the completion of any course work and grading not completed by 30 June 2026 Salary: $9,820.70 (Sessional Lecturer I) $10,510.04 (Sessional Lecturer II) $10,510.04 (Sessional Lecturer I – Long Term) $10,760.28 (Sessional Lecturer II – Long Term) $10,760.28 (Sessional Lecturer III) $11,030.36 (Sessional Lecturer III – Long Term) *Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. Minimum Qualifications: Extensive professional experience in urban forestry. Preferred Qualifications: Preferably a Ph.D. degree; teaching and field camp experience an asset Description of Duties: Prepare and deliver lectures, maintain course notes and readings on Quercus, set and mark course assignments, including analysis of an urban tree inventory dataset. Evaluate student presentations, reports, possible final exam or other assignments. Compile, record and submit final marks. Be available to students via email prior to the formal course start and daily during the intensive two weeks in the field.
