Role Overview Through an Employer of Record (EOR), we are looking for a new remote Java Developer in Canada to join our growing IT Team. This individual will report to the Full Stack Team Lead and will work on impactful projects that enhance our e-commerce platform and internal operations. The role requires travel to our headquarters in Melville, New York three times per year for internal meetings and team building activities. Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and refine requirements, ensuring alignment with business needs. Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable, high-performance software applications. Develop and enhance internal tools and applications to improve company operations. Ensure system reliability, optimize application performance, and implement best practices for scalability. Continuously improve existing codebases, conduct code reviews, and implement modern practices. Stay up to date with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in software development. Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of hands‑on experience in backend and/or full-stack development with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software. Back-End Skills Proficiency in Java and experience with back-end frameworks like Spring Boot . Strong understanding of database design, RDBMS concepts, and experience with SQL . Knowledge of RESTful API design and integration. Experience across the entire software development lifecycle. Tools & Practices Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with agile development methodologies. Additional Skills Strong problem‑solving and debugging capabilities. Ability to create reusable code libraries and write clean, maintainable code. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team. High proficiency in written and verbal English. Preferred Qualifications Experience in front-end responsibilities such as designing and implementing reusable UI components, collaborating with designers, and managing promotional banners.
