The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is the largest school board in Eastern Ontario and offers students and parents a world of choice for learning. We are seeking creative, dynamic, committed teachers to join our:
Elementary Occasional Teacher Roster
We are looking for Certified Occasional Teachers to join our Elementary OT Roster.
Occasional Teachers replace short term absences in our schools and are an integral part of our district.
Qualifications
Candidates:
- Must be in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers as of March 31, 2025.
- Must hold a minimum of one Basic Qualification of either Primary, Junior or Intermediate.
Application Process
All applications must be submitted through Apply to Education.
Enter as much information as possible in your Apply to Education profile. This will be used for the initial screening process (i.e. personal contact information, teachable subjects including those which you are formally qualified with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT), language skills, teaching experience including start and end dates, education history, lived experiences, etc.).
Ensure your OCT number is entered in the Qualifications page of your Apply to Education portfolio.
Upload your resume and cover letter.
Additional documents such as teaching qualifications/licenses, diplomas/certificates, practicum reports, teaching evaluations, and reference letters are all optional.
ApplytoEducation will send an email acknowledgement to all applicants confirming receipt of their application to this competition.
Interviews
We thank all applicants in advance for their interest; however, only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
The OCDSB will contact candidates using the email addresses listed on their Apply to Education portfolios.
Following the closure of this competition (March 31, 2025) candidates that are selected for an interview will receive an email that will include the interview date/time, location and process details. Interviews are expected to take place in April 2025.
