Job title: Senior Databricks Solutions Architect (Azure) Client: Hunter Scouts Location: Ontario, ON, Canada - On-Site Contract type: Direct Hire (Full-time) Contract duration: Permanent / Direct Hire About the Role We’re recruiting on behalf of a large national professional services firm for a Senior Databricks Solutions Architect to design and deliver enterprise-grade data platforms on Azure. In this hands‑on, client-facing role you will lead architecture and implementation of Databricks workspaces, end-to‑end data pipelines, governance, and AI/ML integration across enterprise engagements. This is an excellent opportunity to shape data modernization efforts, work with Microsoft and Databricks partner teams, and drive best practices for DevOps and automation. Responsibilities Architect and implement enterprise Databricks platforms on Azure, including workspace design, security, and governance Design end‑to‑end data pipelines for batch and streaming ingestion, transformation, curation and operationalization using Delta Lake and Apache Spark Establish data governance, cataloging and access controls using Unity Catalog and Azure security services Integrate and operationalize AI/ML workflows using MLflow and Databricks ML capabilities Collaborate with clients to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions; support pre‑sales and solution proposals Define and drive DevOps, CI/CD and automation for build, deployment and monitoring across Azure Data Factory, Synapse and Azure DevOps Partner with Microsoft and Databricks field teams to plan and lead data modernization initiatives Requirements Must reside in Ontario, Canada and be authorized to work in Canada without employer sponsorship 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture or solutions architecture, including 3+ years hands‑on architecting/implementing Databricks platforms in production and 3+ years working with Azure data services (ADLS, Synapse, Data Factory, Azure DevOps) Hands‑on experience with Databricks core components: Delta Lake, Apache Spark, MLflow and Unity Catalog Proven experience designing end‑to‑end data pipelines (ingestion, transformation, orchestration, monitoring) and implementing data governance, security and access controls (e.g., RBAC, Unity Catalog) Experience leading client‑facing engagements, conducting requirements discovery and presenting solution architectures to business stakeholders; experience operationalizing AI/ML workloads Preferred Skills Experience deploying or operating Databricks on AWS or GCP Relevant certifications: Databricks Certified Data Engineer/Architect, Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate (or equivalent) Experience with DevOps for data platforms (CI/CD, IaC such as Terraform) and Azure DevOps Pre‑sales solutioning experience in partnership with Microsoft/Databricks field teams Experience leading migrations or modernization from on‑premises to Azure/Databricks; familiarity with streaming technologies (Kafka, Event Hubs) and Python/SQL How to apply: Please submit your resume and a short note highlighting your Databricks and Azure experience to Hunter Scouts.
