Maintenance Supervisor

Our leading mining client is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team. The selected candidate will oversee and guide the maintenance team in delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective maintenance solutions for our assets. Responsibilities include providing direction to tradespeople, prioritizing maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe workplace, and managing resources effectively.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and lead maintenance crews in managing mobile plant and equipment on site, ensuring adherence to safety and operational protocols.
  • Optimize resource allocations to meet planned and unplanned maintenance requirements.
  • Identify and address hazards and risks through regular inspections and audits, maintaining compliance with HSE standards.
  • Mentor and develop team members, setting clear expectations and providing constructive feedback.
  • Enforce performance standards and disciplinary procedures as necessary.
  • Monitor down day activities for quality and compliance.
  • Review mechanical repairs and services to ensure adherence to maintenance standards.
  • Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of maintenance-related procedures.
  • Ensure timely removal of unsafe equipment from service.
  • Identify and address training needs within the team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Proficiency in mobile plant maintenance processes.
  • Basic knowledge of various trades and equipment.
  • Strong leadership and performance management abilities.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and task management.
  • Understanding of contract management and relevant safety/environmental legislation.
  • Experience in leading and supporting multidisciplinary teams.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with leadership to achieve project goals.
  • Excellent planning and organizational abilities.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of experience in mining or heavy industrial construction.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership or planning role.
  • Proficiency in JDE or equivalent ERP system preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship.

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Journeyman ticket with relevant industry experience.
  • Additional training in team management and leadership preferred.
