Iris's client, one of the world's largest financial institutions is looking to hire a Sr Java Developer for a long-term contract opportunity.


Our client is one of the world's largest financial institutions, serving individual consumers, small and middle market businesses, and large corporations with a full range of banking, investing, asset management, and other financial and risk-management products and services. It is a leading provider of global corporate and investment banking service.



Position: Java Developer

Location: Halifax, NS (Hybrid)

Duration: Long Term

Key Skill: Java, Spring Boot, Jmeter, Devops

Required Skill

  • Design, implement and carry out the development necessary to build any automation solutions to support shift left and continuous testing in the DevOps pipeline.
  • Support and enable app teams to adopt SonarQube to improve code quality and test coverage (e.g. troubleshoot scan failure), and help defining guidelines and best practices.
  • Enable app teams to integrate qTest (a Test Case Management Solution) for tracking test executions and results in their DevOps pipeline.
  • Maintain and enhance our in-house developed platform/tool using the latest technologies such as NodeJS, React, Elasticsearch etc.
  • Build and expand our automated regression/smoke tests for our in-house build DevOps pipeline platform (e.g. Azure, Virtual Machine etc).
  • Create and build standardized Quality Metrics dashboards for all stakeholders to access and report on.

Must-Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Diploma in IT with equivalent IT experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in software development (Java/Python ) and 3+ years using Javascript, Node.js, React with a thorough understanding of continuous integration testing (including Agile methodology).
  • Experience working with JIRA, Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, VB, Windows, Linux, Shell scripting, Groovy.
  • Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
