Irvin Heritage is an archaeological consultancy based in Newmarket that services all of Southern Ontario. We conduct all stages of archaeological assessment and offer guidance and project management related to the mitigation and management of archaeological resources. Irvin Heritage regularly preforms marine archaeological investigations, cemetery limits investigations, and burial investigations. We believe every member of our staff should have the knowledge to understand all requirements of the provincial archaeological process. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to learn about and conduct archaeological surveys, test excavations, and full site excavations. Senior field technicians will have opportunities for laboratory analysis and report writing. We are looking primarily for experienced archaeological field technicians but also encourage energetic entry level students to apply. Licensed Field Directors are also encouraged to apply. We Require: Completion or working toward a BA in Archaeology/Anthropology or related fields Valid Drivers License and ability to independently travel to carpool locations Ability to travel daily to variable work locations Ability to stay consecutive nights up to 5 days out of town (individual hotel rooms and per diem provided) Ability to work a physically demanding job in a variety of outdoor conditions which includes lifting loads (minimum 30 lbs) and perform physically repetitive tasks We offer: Competitive compensation based on experience and performance Starting wages: Entry $23.00/hr , Experienced $25.00/hr+ Mileage compensation (when company vehicles unavailable) Personalized Mentorship Opportunities After Probationary Period: Boot Credit Paid Sick/Personal Leave Days Performance Based Personal Bonus (End of year) Health Coverage options We are looking for candidates for our 2026 field season.
