Software Engineer II

The Basics As a Software Engineer II focused on Cloud technologies, you will build and maintain best‑of‑breed products and infrastructure as part of a nimble development team. Tanium focuses on a customer engagement model and feedback process to ensure our products are designed the right way from the beginning. When new product ideas are identified, our software engineers design, develop, test, and deploy the products and supporting services from the ground up, while iterating with product management and customers for feedback and input. We’re looking for someone with: Education Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience CS Degree preferred Experience 3‑4+ years industry experience Experience designing and building high‑impact, high‑performance, scalable, observable, and maintainable backend services and APIs Knowledge of at least one of Golang (preferred), TypeScript / Node.js, Python, Ruby, Rust, or Java Experience with cloud technologies on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including compute (server and serverless), storage, networking, and security Experience in databases and SQL preferably with PostgreSQL or DynamoDB Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform and other infrastructure technology Experience with React and TypeScript desired Experience with modern software engineering development and automation tools like GitHub Actions and Jenkins Other Demonstrates sound judgment for balancing between rapid development, long‑term code maintainability and supportability Believes in the power of and the need for writing automated tests as part of development Experienced debugger who can put out fires under pressure when things go wrong in production environments Has knowledge of a variety of modern software frameworks (server side & browser side) and the versatility to learn new tools About Tanium Tanium delivers the industry’s only true real‑time cloud‑based endpoint management and security offering. What you’ll get The annual base salary range for this full‑time position is C$120,000 to C$160,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.
