Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Developer - x402) What you’ll be doing: Defining the x402 protocol standard for the internet-native payment protocol Building and maintaining x402 related products such as the x402 SDK, Payment MCP, Payment Facilitators, and onchain payment protocols Collaborating with open-source contributors to evolve the standard through GitHub discussions, issues, and PR reviews What we look for in you: 6+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on backend development working closely with frontend engineers; crypto experience is a plus Strong experience in building scalable and secure software and SDKs Proficiency with Golang, Typescript, and Python Knowledge of Web3 technologies , stablecoins, smart contracts, and wallets Nice to haves: Experience with AI and emerging AI protocol standards (MCP, A2A) Track record of building and maintaining impactful open-source projects Job #: GDBE05US *Answers to crypto-related questions may be used to evaluate your onchain experience Pay Transparency Notice: The target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include bonus eligibility, equity eligibility, and benefits (including medical, dental, and vision).
