Heavy Metal Equipment & Rentals is accepting resumes for an EXPERIENCED Red Seal/ Journeyman Welder for a safety-sensitive position on a rotating 7/7 rotation in a shop setting, that is motivated, committed and wants to grow with us.
An excellent Welder will be:
A strong self-starter
An enthusiastic team player
Experienced, competent and able to repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul and maintain mobile heavy duty equipment in open-pit mining
The person in this position will be expected to work 12 hours per shift on a 7/7 rotation, alternating sets between days and nights.

The Job
Check dozers, haul trucks, excavators and other heavy construction and mining equipment for proper performance
Inspect equipment for defects and malfunctions
Repair and replace defective parts, components and/or systems
Test repaired equipment for proper performance and that it meets or exceeds manufacturer's specifications
What We Need From YOU :
A desire to make a difference and take pride in your work
A minimum of 3 years experience working with large construction and mining open pit equipment,
MUST include in depth experience with CAT, Komatsu, John Deere and Hitachi
Excellent troubleshooting and technical skills
Superior welding aptitude
Shop and/or field work experience
Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
Collaborative communication style
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
A set of mechanic tools required for welding position
MUST be able to complete a Respirator Fit test and don a mask at any time while at work, which also means compliance with facial hair requirements to ensure a complete seal for the mask
As part of our Hiring Process, YOU will be asked to :
Provide a minimum of a Class 5 Driver's License and clean Driver's Abstract
Provide a criminal record check
Complete drug and alcohol screening with a negative result
Complete a fitness evaluation related specifically to your position
Provide copies of current certifications _(if you do not have any of the training required to be on site, we will provide it for you)_
