Specialty RN Training Opportunity - Emergency Join Island Health as part of a regular full‑time specialty nursing training program. The role includes theory, practicum, and a post‑training assignment in the specialty department. A mandatory 18‑month return of service applies to the designated specialty department. Job Description The position prepares staff to work in the specified Island Health specialty department. Upon completion of training, the staff member is placed into a regular full‑time rotation line in that specialty. The role reports to the Nurse Manager or Department Head and provides direct nursing care to patients/residents in line with unit/program philosophy, competency guidelines, policies, and BCCNM Standards for Nursing Practice. Qualifications Registered RN with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives. Recent related medical or surgical experience. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to organize workload and set priorities. Skill in dealing effectively with a variety of internal and external contacts, including co‑workers, physicians, community agency representatives, patients, residents, and families. Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
