Senior Marine Structural Engineer

What You Will Do Lead structural engineering design and analysis for marine infrastructure such as deep foundations piers harbour walls bulkheads retaining walls and cofferdams. Develop high-quality concrete and steel drawings and detailseither manually or using CAD tools. Perform structural analyses using SAP2000 or similar finite element software. Apply current codes standards and industry best practices to all aspects of design. Prepare clear well-structured technical reports and documentation. Manage projects effectively ensuring quality client satisfaction and timely delivery. Work collaboratively with internal and external geographically distributed teams. Engage directly with clients offering thoughtful solutions and maintaining strong relationships. Travel occasionally for site visits project meetings and field assignments (typically 12 weeks at a time with some longer opportunities). Qualifications 12 years of structural engineering experience related to marine infrastructure. Registration as a Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO). Demonstrated ability to successfully design and analyze structures as an individual contributor. Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills in English. Proven project management capabilities. Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment with evolving priorities and deadlines. Nice to Have Experience in geotechnical arctic offshore or construction engineering (including familiarity with EnSoft software). Civil Structural or related engineering field. Broad interest in marine and coastal engineering. Creative problem-solving skills and enthusiasm for collaborating closely with clients. Additional Information Baird is employee-owned.
