The position is part‑time (3 days per week) for a 6‑month term with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will support student mental health by fostering personal and academic coping skills and will be forward‑thinking, innovative, and collaborative. HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE Provide evidence‑based mental health support in accordance with provincial regulatory body standards of practice (CAP, ACSW). Provide in‑person and virtual crisis and drop‑in counselling for at‑risk students. Actively participate, as a multidisciplinary Wellness Team member, to ensure best practices and student safety. Participate and/or lead Wellness Team mental health initiatives and projects that support NorQuest students. Provide classroom presentations on mental health topics. Engage in scholarly activity, research, and continuing education to support best practices and excellence in student mental health service delivery. Collaborate with other areas of the College in support of student mental health and a mentally healthy learning community. WHAT YOU BRING Master’s in Counselling Psychology, Master’s in Educational Psychology, or a Graduate Degree in Counseling Psychology, Educational Psychology or Clinical Social Work. Registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists or Alberta College of Social Workers, or eligibility for registration. 5+ years of experience providing mental health counselling. Experience in a post‑secondary environment is an asset. Experience with providing trauma‑informed psychosocial interventions, crisis counselling and risk assessment. Working with diverse client groups, using an intercultural lens. Interpreting psychoeducational assessments and functional impacts. Working with online processes and file‑management systems. Developing and delivering resources to support positive mental health for groups. Working in a multidisciplinary setting. Providing professional consultation. Leading and managing projects. Training on supporting individuals impacted by sexual violence. Fostering collaborative, positive working relationships. Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills. Flexibility and the ability to respond quickly to changing demands. Experience working with diverse people using an intercultural lens. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, with verbal, electronic, and written formats. Strong independence, organization skills, and attention to detail. As part of the faculty, this is a term position with access to our full benefits and pension programs. The role requires regular on‑campus work at our downtown Edmonton campus, with possible travel to Wetaskiwin Campus. SALARY : The pay range is reflective of the candidate’s education and experience, as outlined in the Faculty Association Agreement Appendix A.
