Senior Localization Quality and Automation Specialist

Senior Localization Quality and Automation Specialist (Remote in Canada) Join our dynamic Localization team to drive the next generation of quality and efficiency in our global content delivery. You will be the crucial link between our Machine Translation (MT) capabilities and the final customer experience, designing, implementing, and managing a quality assurance framework that ensures localized content is top‑tier while streamlining workflow through automation and tooling. Responsibilities Design and implement the quality framework, selecting and managing the right suite of QA tools and linguistic sign‑off workflows that measure and ensure the linguistic quality of all localized assets. Establish key metrics, such as DQF, MQM, BLEU, and TER, to objectively measure MT model output quality. Drive process automation by analyzing the current localization workflow to eliminate bottlenecks and building custom scripts that automate repetitive tasks, focusing on QA, handoffs, and feedback loops. Act as liaison between the Localization team and ML teams, translating linguistic quality data into technical feedback that helps improve MT models. Analyze quality data, generate reports, and present actionable insights to stakeholders on localization process and MT engine performance. Manage and evaluate existing localization tools (CAT, TMS, QA checkers) for potential integration with new technologies. Qualifications 14+ years of experience in the field with at least 5+ years in Localization Engineering, QA, Tool Management, or a similar data‑driven localization role. Strong linguistic background with understanding of quality principles, error typology, and industry‑standard metrics (MQM, DQF). Proven experience selecting, integrating, or developing automation tools—scripting, API integration, regex—within localization workflows. Familiarity with Machine Translation concepts, post‑editing workflows, and MT quality assessment. Data analysis skills, able to work with large datasets and provide data‑driven recommendations. Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain complex technical issues to non‑technical audiences. Nice to Have Familiarity with a major TMS and CAT tools. Experience scripting in Python or JavaScript for automation. Background in computational linguistics or data science. Benefits Salary Range: $130,000—$139,000 CAD Remote work in Canada with flexible schedule.
