Join Our Team as an Interior Designer

Signify Design  is a dynamic Interior Design studio specializing in environmental branding and commercial design, located in Woodstock, Ontario. We are expanding our talented team and are on the lookout for a passionate and skilled Interior Designer  to contribute to our growing success

This full-time  position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, and deadline-driven  studio environment alongside our Senior Design team. If you are a detail-oriented and creative individual with a strong understanding of commercial design in Canada, we want to hear from you

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop accurate and detailed design drawings, including architectural layouts, structural details, and material schedules. Drawings will include precise measurements and Contruction specification, aligning with industry standards in Canada.
  • Draft detailed construction and manufacturing drawings , including millwork, furniture, fixtures, and finishing details. 
  • Generate 3D visualizations and walkthroughs  from base building plans for client presentations and marketing materials. Expertise with 3D rendering software such as Twin Motion and/or SketchUp and/or Revit is required
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation  according to company procedures. 
  • Create innovative design concepts  tailored to client needs, project budgets, and brand identity.
  • Conduct product research, procurement, and material selection pertaining to finishes, furniture, fabrics, equipment, and lighting.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and fabricators  to bring designs to life.
  • Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM)  for all project components.
  • Produce design proposals  and presentation materials for clients. Expertise in Adobe is required. 
  • Foster and maintain positive client relationships  throughout the project lifecycle. 
  • Adapt to changing priorities and support the Creative Director  as required.

What We're Looking For:

  • Education:  A degree or diploma in Interior Design or Architectural Technology, from a recognized post -secondary Colleg or University in Canada.
  • Experience:  Minimum 3 years  in interior design within Canada.
  • ARIDO and/or NCIDQ designation is an asset.

Software Proficiency:

  • Expert knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Twin Motion, and Revit .
  • Strong skills in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign .
  • Additional experience with 3D Max, CAM software, and other industry tools  is an asset.

Design Expertise:

  • Experience with space planning, materials selection, and interior design fundamentals .
  • Strong understanding of current design trends, techniques, and processes .
  • Knowledge of millwork, furniture design, finishing materials, and lighting .

Industry Knowledge:

  • 3+ years of experience in Canadian commercial design and construction .
  • Up to date general knowledge of building codes  as they apply within Canada.

Additional Skills:

  • Strong illustration techniques .
  • Excellent communication skills  (written and verbal in English).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, independently, and within a team .
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities .

Other Requirements:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada .
  • Must be able to reliably commute  to our Woodstock Ontario studio, some additional travel may be required.
