**Job Title: Heavy Duty Mechanic -****Signing Bonus**Job DescriptionJoin a dedicated service and repair team as a Heavy Duty Mechanic, working on a variety of municipal and contractor equipment including Sewer Equipment, Street Sweepers, Ice Resurfacing Equipment, and Garbage Collection Vehicles. You will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on large service truck modules, vacuum and airflow systems, water systems, and hydraulic systems in Burnaby.ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance and repairs on large service truck modules, vacuum and airflow systems, water systems, and hydraulic systems.Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with a focus on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics for effective repairs.Work within a team of four technicians, taking work under specific orders and time frames.Occasionally travel for on-road services as the dedicated mechanic when required.Essential SkillsRed Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic or Red Seal Commercial Transport Mechanic certification.Minimum of 2 years experience troubleshooting electrical components.Ability to read and write English for documentation and computer use.Proficient in reading electrical and hydraulic schematics.Possession of personal tools for the job.Additional Skills & QualificationsDirect experience with street sweepers, garbage trucks, or street flushers is advantageous.10+ years experience as a Red Seal is preferred.Background in heavy equipment or commercial transport is beneficial.Class 3 with Air license.Knowledge of AC/DC converters and some welding skills (MIG steel or aluminum) for attachments/repairs.Why Work Here?Be part of a small, friendly company where your contributions make a real impact. The role involves primarily inside shop work with some outdoor bays. The dress code includes company-supplied coveralls and a boot allowance after the probation period. The shift is Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with a typical balance of 60% shop work and 40% on the road.
