Located at 202 Brownlow Ave in Dartmouth, this modern clinic is designed to empower physicians to focus on what they do best—providing exceptional patient care. Operated under a turnkey model, the clinic is privately run with Nova Scotia Health-affiliated staff, and NS Health manages operations, staffing, and overhead in partnership with clinic leadership. The facility offers free parking, meeting and conference rooms, group medical space, and bariatric rooms equipped with specialized exam beds and furniture. As a fully staffed turnkey clinic, all support personnel are in place to ensure a seamless start for incoming physicians. We are currently seeking a 1.0FTE (full time) Family Physician to join our collaborative and innovative team. This full-time opportunity runs Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. In alignment with our Health Home model, patient access to care on evenings and weekends is supported as part of an after hours call network of which the providers at Mediora will participate in on a rotating basis (one shift every 2-3 months). Physicians are expected to provide comprehensive primary care, accept patients from the Need a Family Practice Registry (811 list), participate in team-based care with allied health professionals, engage in regular team huddles and case discussions, and collaborate with physician assistants, family practice nurses, and other specialists. Compensation is offered through the Longitudinal Family Medicine (LFM) model or Fee-for-Service, and the clinic uses MedAccess EMR. The team includes 14 physicians, 1 family practice nurse, 2–3 physician assistants, and other allied health professionals. Each physician will maintain their own patient roster, which may be built from the Need a Family Practice Registry. Physicians will provide support, mentoring and partnership with the Physician Assistants at the clinic. Job Description Responsibilities Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures Advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners Act as a patient’s advocate Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements Dartmouth is a great place for getting outside and appreciating its natural beauty on land and water.
