Junior Systems Engineer

Junior Systems Engineer - LC4ISR Location: Ottawa, Canada Join Tier 4 in a hybrid role. This role supports the Canadian Army’s Land Command, Control, Communications & Computers (C4) Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (LC4ISR) systems. You will provide system engineering support throughout the project execution cycle from specification, design, development, integration, test, and acceptance. Key Responsibilities Develop the preliminary and detailed designs for system and subsystem elements. Identify, characterize and analyze issues in the system or its design through problem reports and document and design reviews. Estimate and appropriately decompose work in an agile lifecycle process. Provide timely and accurate status updates. Assess the impact of planned changes on the existing system. Author or review technical documentation to capture the system and subsystem designs including architecture, interfaces and installation elements. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure designs are consistent with the needs of the end‑users. Support the development of verification and validation artifacts including plans and procedures. Collaborate with other functions during the implementation and integration of the system and subsystem designs. Resolve technical issues during the implementation, integration and testing of the system and subsystem elements. Support the installation and/or integration testing of the systems remotely or on customer site. Basic Qualifications University or college degree in engineering or a related discipline. Ability to obtain clearances as specified under the Regulatory Compliance section. Preferred Qualifications Any professional experience in the design and integration of complex systems or software would be an asset. Regulatory Compliance Requirements Canada: Access to Trade Controlled Items, Access to Controlled Goods, Security Clearance. Required clearances: Canadian Controlled Goods Program, Canadian NATO Secret clearance, U.S. ITAR/EAR. Physical Demands Minimal lifting of test and electronic equipment; connecting equipment in a lab environment or job site, including onboard vehicle or vessel. Special Position Requirements Hybrid position. Full time, standard business hours. Occasional travel to customer site for technical support/integration activities and within Canada for planning events.
