Senior Data Scientist, Product We’re looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join our product and design team at Shakepay.This role is perfect for someone who loves diving deep into product analytics and can transform complex data into actionable strategies quickly. You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our products, leveraging your analytical skills to influence product development and drive informed decision-making across the organization. What you’ll be doing Work closely with the product managers to create insights and recommendations that inform roadmaps and product strategy Collaborate with product and marketing teams to design experiments and validate hypotheses quickly, measure the impact of changes effectively Partner with senior leadership to define top-level product KPIs, set success and guardrail metrics that reinforce a culture of accountability Develop and deploy machine learning models and apply causal inference techniques to uncover deep product insights, enabling data-driven decisions that improve user experience and product Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) across different stages of the user journey to drive retention and user acquisition and activation strategies Contribute to the prioritization of product features and roadmaps based on ROI and long term goals Collaborate with other members of the data team to improve internal data process Conduct ad hoc investigations and make evidence-based recommendations Drive the adoption of our product analytics tool and lead initiatives to embed data-driven decision-making across the organization, promoting a culture of experimentation Who we’re looking for 5+ years of experience working as a Product focused Data Scientist or similar roles Proficiency in SQL and Python for querying and manipulating data A demonstrated ability to manage and deliver on multiple projects with cross-functional teams and a high attention to detail Experience conducting deep-dive statistical analysis (modeling, causality, regression, etc) Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment Strong product sense and good understanding of experimentation and A/B testing concepts Solid understanding of dashboarding and data visualization tools (we use Preset and Metabase) Startup experience. Bonus points for B2C fintech experience. Experience with experimentation and product analytics platforms like Statsig (which is what we use), Amplitude, Posthog, or others Experience working with dbt, cloud data warehouses (we use Snowflake), Bonus points if you are existing Shakepay customer and/or familiar with the product Interest and enthusiasm for the possibilities enabled by Bitcoin and non-sovereign money Help shape the future of money: Be part of a team that's revolutionizing financial services in Canada, one sat at a time.
