Overview Join to apply for the Engineer, Transmission and Distribution Lines role at BBA Consultants Our Transmission and Distribution Lines team is spread out across Canada, mainly in Mont‑Saint‑Hilaire (head office), Toronto and Calgary. Our multidisciplinary team comprises specialized engineers, technicians and support staff and includes professionals from junior to expert levels. Our clients operate mainly in the heavy industry and private sectors, both in Canada and abroad. Our team of experts helps clients with all their project phases, from feasibility studies to commissioning and asset management. Responsibilities Design transmission and distribution lines Supervise the work of engineers, technicians and drafters and provide technical support Act as technical project manager to deliver projects on time, on budget and up to quality standards Develop line layouts Draft and manage engineering documents for transmission and distribution line projects (from 5 kV to 765 kV) Prepare and optimize PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE models Design support structures and foundations for transmission and distribution lines Select the required components: insulators, hardware, conductors and structures Take the lead in preparing proposals, studies, cost estimates, reports, and plans and specifications Help inspect existing lines and prepare inspection reports Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in civil or electrical engineering At least 10 years of experience with transmission and distribution lines Relevant structural experience Technical writing skills Knowledge of the PLS-CADD suite Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec Advanced level of English to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients outside Québec. The frequency of English use may range from occasional to daily, depending on ongoing projects Certifications and Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in civil or electrical engineering At least 10 years of experience with transmission and distribution lines Relevant structural experience Technical writing skills Knowledge of the PLS-CADD suite Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec Advanced level of English to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients outside Québec.
