The Position: We’re seeking a VP of Financial Reporting to join our growing finance team, responsible for managing the Controllership and Payroll functions. As a technical expert, this role is accountable for the timeliness and accuracy of financial statement presentation, including compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS) and regulatory requirements. This role will oversee the external audit and review process, ensuring completion on time and on budget. In addition, the VP Financial Reporting is responsible for a team that manages day‑to‑day accounting processes, including directing payroll operations such that compliance with regulatory requirements is maintained, driving payroll process efficiency, and acting as the subject‑matter expert for all Lumine business units. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the VP Financial Reporting will drive transparency, integrity and operational excellence in financial reporting while developing a team of six directors, managers and specialists. The position is in a diverse and fast‑paced environment with a wide global reach. The VP of Financial Reporting serves as a key liaison to the finance team and will contribute to the development and achievement of Lumine Group’s financial and strategic goals. Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Accountable for completion of all consolidated financial reporting requirements for Lumine Group as a publicly listed entity as well as internal financial reporting to parent company. Partner with portfolio companies’ finance teams, FP&A and tax teams to oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual closes processes, ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial data. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and tax obligations. Lead a team responsible to provide technical accounting leadership, including evaluation of complex accounting issues such as revenue recognition and business combination accounting to ensure appropriate treatment. Monitor changes in accounting standards and lead implementation efforts across the organization. Work with portfolio companies’ finance and Finance Systems team to improve efficiencies related to the financial close process, including identifying opportunities for automation. Acquisition Accounting Ensure appropriate accounting treatment for all acquisitions, including purchase price allocations and accounting policy review with particular focus on revenue recognition. Responsible for ensuring opening balance sheet accounting is complete and accurate. External Audit Management Work closely with external auditors as well as business unit finance teams to deliver annual audit and quarterly reviews on time and on budget. Oversight of the audit plan and overall audit management, reporting results directly to senior executives on the Audit Steering Committee. Payroll Provide strategic leadership for payroll operations across all regions and entities. Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state/provincial, and international regulations. Collaborate with HR and Finance Systems to optimize payroll systems and employee data integrity. Oversee payroll audits, reconciliations, and internal controls. Process Improvement Optimize workflows, including evaluating existing reporting processes, redesigning workflows to improve speed, accuracy and scalability of reporting cycles. Maintain standardized procedures and documentation to drive consistency across reporting periods and teams. Champion the use of automation and AI‑driven tools to reduce manual effort and error rates. Collaborate with the Finance Systems team to ensure systems are aligned with reporting needs and regulatory requirements. Team Leadership and Development Provide leadership and develop a high‑performing finance and payroll team. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Train and coach global finance teams to ensure they have the knowledge and resources they require to adhere to international financial reporting standards (IFRS). Continuous updates to Playbooks, creating training materials for the finance function overall. Lead change initiatives related to reporting transformation, including key stakeholder engagement, training and adoption strategies. Qualifications: 15 years of experience with a track record of progressive executive leadership. Experience working in a global business with multiple currencies and time zones an asset. Public Company experience is a must, either within public accounting or in‑house. Software industry experience an asset. M&A experience an asset. Strong understanding of financial principles, systems, regulations, and best practices. Effective leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and influence decision‑making. Ability to manage a demanding work schedule and manage time effectively to meet deadlines. Can work well independently with limited supervision, as well as in a team environment. Attention to detail and strong analytical skills. A true problem solver, who thrives on using curiosity and pragmatism to propose solutions. Self‑driven and motivated with a passion for learning.
