Overview Senior Machine Learning Engineering Manager, Gen AI at Dropbox. This role requires a leader to build one of Dropbox’s newest AI offerings, Dash, and to scale engineering efforts in Gen AI. Dropbox is a Virtual First company. For this role, we are currently only authorized to hire candidates from the following provinces: Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, and Saskatchewan. Responsibilities Lead and develop a high-performing team of engineers, fostering ownership and driving impactful outcomes. Shape and advance the future of Dash, driving product monetization and revenue generation for Dropbox. Utilize data and insights to inform decisions that significantly impact the company. Foster operational excellence, streamline processes, and eliminate redundancies to ensure team agility. Cultivate a collaborative culture that reflects Dropbox values. Provide strategic direction and proactively anticipate scaling challenges through long-term planning. Define the team’s OKRs and manage executions. Collaborate with business partners and peer teams on priorities and requirements. Manage the system’s operational health, including on-call duties and connections with external gateway partners. Define growth paths and opportunities for team members. Qualifications MS degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent technical experience. 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in direct management roles. Proficient in the latest advancements in ML, NLP, LLM, and GenAI. Ability to navigate ambiguity with a bias for action. Proven expertise applying ML techniques to real-world challenges (AI Agents, Chatbots, Search, Information Retrieval). Strong use of data-driven insights, including A/B testing and experimentation. Track record of setting visionary goals and delivering iterative progress. Exceptional analytical capabilities for complex, dynamic environments. Ability to mentor and guide team members to maximize impact. Preferred Qualifications Experience building 0→1 ML consumer-facing products at large-scale (Dropbox-level) is a plus. Compensation Canada Pay Range: CA$219,300 — CA$296,700 CAD. The range listed is the expected annual salary/OTE for this role, subject to change.
