Overview Backend Java Developer role at Societe Generale. Global Banking Technology & Operations (GBTO) Canada aims to deliver day-to-day services to Société Générale investment and corporate bank units and their clients to accelerate transformation. GBTO differentiates itself with agile transformation pace, spreading the technology and data culture, shortening the decision-making process, and adopting an industrial approach, leveraging various teams either transversal or aligned to the sub business units. Reference 25000HQB Responsibilities The MRF (Market Data Referential) team of five manages the collection of market data from external providers, formats it, and exposes data to Societe Generale information systems. In the Americas region, the team collaborates with partners in New York, Chicago, and Montreal and may address worldwide requirements. Deliver high-quality clean code and test case scenarios by applying relevant software craftsmanship principles and meeting the acceptance criteria Deliver changes across all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) in-line with Agile and IT craftsmanship principles Take part in team meetings Actively work with other Referential teams located in France, Morocco, Hong Kong and Inde to define and implement a common framework for data access, via API or back-end Contribute to digitalizing and optimizing the market data platform with automation and innovative ideas Contribute to production support effort Qualifications Must Have: Strong programming skills; Proficiency in Java; understanding of front-, middle-, and back-end programming concepts; ability to use design and automation tools; knowledge of CI practices; knowledge of datasets in data catalog; ability to manage and communicate data warehouse plans to internal stakeholders Competencies: Autonomous and Curious; Rigorous; Good communication Nice to Have: Knowledge of financial products (Fixed Income, Equities, Corporate Actions, etc.); Experience with Front or Risk Officers; Investment Banking experience; Knowledge of VBA macros Languages: French and English; ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States Diversity & Inclusion Societe Generale is an equal opportunity employer and we are committed to recognizing and promoting the talents and achievements of our employees and staff, regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, gender, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic or status protected under applicable law.
