This role will lead financial reporting initiatives, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory standards. The incumbent will drive the overall success of the International Banking Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team in Toronto by executing key goals, plans, and initiatives aligned with the team’s business strategies. All activities will be conducted in strict compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. In this role, you will: Data Analysis Collaborate with both country and MIS teams to assess financial reporting capabilities and identify opportunities for improvement – data quality and granularity, reporting timeliness and reach. Develop financial models for ad-hoc analyses, consolidating data to review variances, trends, or sensitivity analyses. Advise local FP&A teams to ensure methodology and processes align with best practices and organizational goals. Coordinate with country specialist teams to ensure analysis and reporting of segment trends and results are consistent. Work closely with the Strategy team to provide necessary financial analysis and data for strategic deliverables. Control Liaise with IB FP&A Directors, Country FP&A and Segment Leads to ensure the accuracy and consistency of financial data. Ensure the integrity and reliability of financial results and oversee the timely completion of financial reporting processes. Other Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. We'd love to work with you if you have: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or related fields. MBA or master’s in finance is an asset. CFA, CPA, or other designations are an asset. Fluency in Spanish is a must. Minimum 8-10 years of work experience. Minimum 2 years in senior roles. Banking or financial services experience. Experience in financial reporting, planning, analysis. Highly familiar with accounting practices, taxation, and transfer pricing. Excellent communication (written, verbal as well as presentation) skills. Excellent computer skills – Proficient in Excel (advanced modelling, macros, VBA). What’s in it for you?
