The appointment will be at the rank of Associate Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026. Candidates must have a PhD degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field, hold a baccalaureate degree in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent discipline, and demonstrate a record of excellence in research and teaching. We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and enhance our existing departmental strengths in modern nuclear reactor design (fission, fusion, and small modular reactors), transport phenomena in nuclear reactors, thermal hydraulics, molten salt chemistry, thermodynamics, processing, nuclear chemistry, AI‑assisted modeling and simulation of nuclear energy systems, nuclear safety and waste management, and hybrid nuclear‑renewable systems. The successful candidate will have an established international reputation and be expected to sustain and lead innovative, independent research, maintain an outstanding, competitive, externally funded research program, and teach in the chemical engineering curriculum at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We will prioritize candidates who can advance global frontiers of knowledge rather than solely their specialization area. Collaborative, interdisciplinary research and collegial interaction will be essential to success. Eligibility to register as a Professional Engineer in Ontario is required. Evidence of research excellence will be evaluated through sustained high‑impact contributions and publications in top‑ranked, field‑relevant journals; the submitted research statement; presentations at significant conferences; awards and accolades; and other notable activities that enhance the discipline’s visibility and prominence, along with strong referee endorsements. Evidence of teaching excellence will be judged via teaching accomplishments, the teaching dossier, and strong letters of reference. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
