Identity Engineering owns the systems that onboard all consumers and manage their authentication and verification journeys across our product surfaces. In this role, you will deepen your understanding of the business, product, and engineering context to own and deliver high‑availability, low‑latency systems on the critical paths for all of our products. What You'll Do With the support of your team’s tech lead and manager, break down larger projects into individual tasks, deliver them in multiple phases, and collaborate to ensure timely delivery. Support peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design, and analytics to articulate technical constraints and make risk‑aware decisions. Support the operations and availability of your team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and contributing to on‑call and keep‑the‑lights‑on efforts. Contribute to a sense of community on your team by engaging in growth and development activities, including participation in the interview process. What We Look For 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer. Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems, and proficiency in Python or Kotlin. Familiarity with the building blocks of distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes. Ability to transform a simple problem or business scenario into a solution that interacts with multiple software components, producing clear, readable, well‑tested, and extensible code. Comfort navigating a large code base, debugging others’ code, and providing constructive code‑review feedback. Demonstrated ownership of personal growth, proactively seeking feedback from the team, manager, and stakeholders. Strong verbal and written communication skills that support effective collaboration with our global engineering team. Either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Pay & Equity Pay Grade: L | Equity Grade: 5 – Employees previously new to the team typically start at the lower end of the pay range.
