Recruiter at Alquemy Search & Consulting Director, Fixed Income Settlements Technology "Hybrid" work environment 3 - 4 days per week in downtown Toronto office The Director, Fixed Income Settlements Technology, will lead the strategic direction, oversight, and modernization of the Global Fixed Income Technology team in Toronto. The role is responsible for defining and delivering the Fixed Income Operations technology strategy to reduce operational risk and drive value, working closely with Global Wholesale Operations and regional Technology teams. The Director ensures alignment with internal governance standards and regulatory requirements across Canada, the U.S., and international jurisdictions. This position has end-to-end accountability for the technology supporting Fixed Income Settlements and Clearing, including management of all related vendor relationships. This position will lead a team of 10+ (growing), Business Analysts, Business Solution Experts, Developers etc. Desired skills & experience 10+ years of professional experience Fixed income The technical environment is Java/Kafka/NiFi Vendor Communication and Management experience Process knowledge and experience in scheduling, resource allocation, risk management and systems design Some of the responsibilities Drive a strong customer-focused culture that deepens client relationships and leverages enterprise capabilities Provide 24/7 global production support and ensure the stability, availability, and integrity of Operations applications Lead delivery of complex technology initiatives and programs ($2MM–$15MM), managing multiple concurrent projects across business lines Apply modern technologies and delivery frameworks (Agile, DevOps, Lean, Design Thinking) to meet evolving business and regulatory needs Own end-to-end accountability for application development, ongoing support, and production resilience Ensure systems and processes meet enterprise architecture standards, policies, and risk requirements Translate business requirements into actionable technology strategies and scalable solutions Serve as the primary technology interface between operations, business stakeholders, and internal technology teams Drive continuous improvement and effective issue resolution across production environments Lead capacity and demand planning across the technology portfolio Build and lead a high-performance, inclusive organization through coaching, talent development, and succession planning Communicate effectively with executive leadership, business partners, and teams, reinforcing the Bank’s vision, values, and risk culture Base salary is in the $170,000 - $190,000 range Flexible related to experience +Bonus If you're interested, please apply with resume.
