Position Overview At Powerhouse Controls, we don’t just implement systems—we bring clarity, control, and empowerment to the people who use them. As an Automation Integration Specialist on the Implementation Team, you’ll play a critical hands‑on role in delivering that promise. This is not a “follow the checklist” role. You’ll configure, build, and refine real systems—from developing SCADA and PLC logic to implementing data pipelines and contributing to solution architecture. You’ll be the bridge between our platform vision (like NEXIA) and what actually runs on the factory floor. You’ll define requirements, design solutions, support installations, and lead portions of commissioning. You’ll make sure the solution isn’t just functional—it’s trusted. You’ll collaborate directly with Implementation Team Leads and Project Managers to translate requirements into robust, maintainable, and intuitive deployments. Why Join Us? Develop SCADA visualizations, dashboards, and alarming logic to support operator‑friendly HMI systems. Write and debug PLC code for equipment‑level control and system integration. Support the development of field‑configurable templates for deployment reuse. Design, Build & Test Reliable Solution Clearly define system requirements following sales handoff and customer kickoff. Design and develop a robust solution with reliability and maintainability as key performance metrics. Conduct factory acceptance tests (FAT), support field commissioning activities and site acceptance tests (SAT). Perform structured systems testing to ensure stability, traceability, and uptime. Document system configurations, logic flow, and device mappings to ensure clarity at handoff. Work alongside Implementation Leads and Platform teams to help design technically sound solutions. Identify and raise risks or gaps early‑contribute to architecture reviews with a field‑ready perspective. Help guide toolkit selection and platform customization where needed. Champion Customer Enablement Participate in on‑site training and early‑stage operator onboarding. Ensure the customer understands what was deployed and why it works that way. Capture feedback for internal teams and support the development of our customer Wiki and documentation strategy. Note: The key accountabilities are not an exhaustive list and other duties may be assigned as needed. What You Bring High‑quality, stable, and maintainable deployments. Accurate configuration and logic development across SCADA, PLC, and data systems. Clear documentation and clean handoff to customers and the Service Team. Field‑driven feedback loops that inform platform and product improvements. Qualifications Must‑Have 2+ years experience in controls, systems integration, or industrial automation deployments. Strong hands‑on experience with PLC programming, SCADA development, and industrial networking. Familiarity with data systems, including historians, traceability, and reporting. Able to read and interpret electrical drawings and I/O schematics. Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills under live plant conditions. Willingness to travel to deployment sites across Canada and the U.S. Nice‑to‑Have Experience deploying or supporting interoperability platforms, such as middleware or traffic control systems. Familiarity with MES, WMS, or ERP integrations. Experience with FT Optix, Ignition, Kepware, or NEXIA.
