System Safety Manager (Civil Works, RAMS) - Ontario LRT (Phase 2) Join a leading international rail consultancy on a marquee light rail programme in Ontario. We're seeking a System Safety Manager (Civil Works) to lead safety assurance across structures, track & guideway, stations/architecture, and the civil interfaces to fire‑life, elevators, grounding, mechanical and electrical systems. The Opportunity As System Safety Manager, you will own the safety strategy and delivery for civil works, ensuring safety requirements are planned, proven and certified through construction, integration, and handover. You'll work in lock‑step with PM/Team Leads, Safety & V&V colleagues in Europe and external actors including the ISA, end customer, CSSO, designers, construction quality and T&C. Responsibilities Lead the Hazard Log: analyse, review, modify and control the programme's central hazard record. Drive Certification: develop Construction Safety Certifications (CSCC) for every certifiable element. Perform Safety Analyses for complex systems/processes, embedding mitigations into design, construction and operations. Integrate RAMS: apply UNI EN50126 and the FTA Safety Handbook across reliability, availability, maintainability and safety activities. Assure Compliance: align with applicable standards and programme requirements; set up performance monitoring to detect trends and issues early. Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, operations and maintenance; enable incident response procedures within the RAMS framework. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related); advanced RAMS/Safety certification preferred. Substantial experience in RAMS analysis and safety management in high‑hazard industries (rail/transit or construction). Deep familiarity with EN50126 and FTA Safety Handbook; confident with hazard identification, risk evaluation and safety case evidence. Strong analytical, problem‑solving and leadership skills, with excellent stakeholder communication. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; English at working level (B1 or higher) Location & Team Based in Ontario, Canada, embedded with the project team and interfacing internationally with safety/V&V centres of excellence. Package A competitive compensation package is offered in line with senior RAMS leadership roles on North American LRT programmes.
