Senior Mechanical Engineering Lead Mining BBA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineering Lead for mine process plants to support our continued growth in Western Canada. The selected candidate will play a key role in all phases of engineering projects from front‑end studies through to field implementation with a focus on detailed engineering. As a senior member of the mechanical engineering team, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring technical quality, developing new business opportunities, and fostering team development. Key Responsibilities Develop mechanical scopes of work, budgets, and proposals. Perform high‑level engineering on major mechanical packages such as crushing and grinding circuits, flotation circuits, leaching circuits, and dewatering. Lead mechanical scope on conceptual design studies, pre‑feasibility studies, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering. Be a key team member for small to major brownfield/greenfield mining projects. Participate in site visits, inspections, condition assessments, commissioning, and testing. Site visits typically range from 3–10 days up to twenty‑five days a year, negotiable during the interview process. Provide mentorship and coaching of junior/intermediate engineers, actively sharing knowledge and supporting the enhancement of skills within the team. Foster a culture of having fun at work while producing high‑quality professional deliverables. Oversee process plant layout design (strong asset). Qualities & Values Lifelong learner. Qualifications University degree in Mechanical Engineering. 12+ years of relevant engineering experience in the mining sector, with a preference for 5+ years in consulting. Confirmed track record with strong technical skills as a Mechanical Engineer on mineral process plant projects. Ability to interpret PFDs and process design criteria from process engineering, oversee plant layouts, mechanical equipment selection, technical bid evaluation and validation, and pump sizing. Registered P.Eng. in Canada. Valid driver’s license.Available for site work and short‑term assignments (3–10 days at a time up to twenty‑five days a year). Assets: Site experience; experience in base and precious metals. Compensation & Benefits Annual base salary (37.5‑hour week) between $130,000 and $210,000.
