About You:
We are looking for a world class business analyst to join the team to help design and deliver the next generation of payments products. We’re on a mission to build the fastest, cheapest, most transparent payments network on the market. We want someone who’s committed, can solve complex problems and who has experience in financial services.
About the Role:
Layer2 Financial is on the forefront of payments. It is not the destination for someone who is content with the status quo. The problems we solve are those problems that not many others will ever have the opportunity to work on.
You will work on all of the company’s products, from client facing products to internal tools. You will work on designing and upgrading Layer2’s platform of APIs. You will add new features to clients' management dashboard. You will build integrations with partners to further enhance our capabilities and expand our global support. You will create internal tools and processes that touch many aspects of the business from customer success to operations to compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Feature Design: Identify problems, find solutions and design features that delight clients or support internal teams.
- Product Requirements: Work with stakeholders to capture requirements, translating them from problems to solutions to actionable work items / user stories / tickets.
- Delivery: Work with developers and testers to drive delivery of new features. Ensure regular releases are deployed with new features or product updates.
- KPI Tracking: Come up with meaningful metrics to track the performance of Layer2 products. Create dashboards to track KPIs to easily identify what areas of the business needs improvement.
- Product Testing: Perform product acceptance testing and conduct product demos to ensure requirements are satisfied and high quality is maintained.
- Product SME: Become a subject matter expert on the Layer2 platform and processes, being able to field questions from clients, partners, and other team members.
- Other Responsibilities: Being a start up successful candidates may be required to support customer success, compliance and sales.
Prerequisites:
- Product management track record: 3+ years prior experience delivering products that are used at scale.
- Cross functional team: Should be comfortable working with different teams across different domains, from backend to frontend to operations to sales.
- Stakeholder management: Should be comfortable working with external stakeholders of all seniority levels, including clients and partners, both new and existing.
- Technically minded: Applicants should have very good understanding of software systems, REST APIs. Should be comfortable drawing system diagrams/flows and using SQL to find answers to your own questions.
- Skills and Tools: Applicants need to be able to use tools such as Postman, SQL, Figma, and BI tools.
- Financial services knowledge: Ability to demonstrate some working knowledge / experience within financial services (banking/payments preferred).
Nice to haves:
- Start up experience.
- Prior experience / knowledge of digital assets, blockchains, cryptocurrencies.
- Prior experience / knowledge of global payments systems (Swift, Fedwire, SEPA).
- Prior experience / knowledge of compliance functions and tools e.g. kyc, transaction monitoring, Alloy, Chainalysis, Hummingbird.
