DNV Energy Systems’ group has an exciting opportunity for a Power System Engineer (EMT Studies) in its Renewables & Power Grids service area. Our team provides creative, cost effective and practical solutions to stakeholders in power generation, transmission, and distribution systems. The Engineer must demonstrate vision and drive and be passionate about contributing to the growth of the Power Systems Advisory business in North America. The ideal candidate will contribute in delivering technical insights and providing customers with excellent customer service. This role is based at our DNV office in Toronto (ON) or Montreal (QB), presenting a dynamic hybrid schedule where employees will typically spend three (3) days per week working from either a DNV office or client location/site. Further details regarding role-specific requirements will be shared during the interview process. The position may also be considered at other DNV offices within Canada. What is Required Master’s degree in electrical engineering with emphasis in Power System and Control Hands‑on experience with PSCAD software Knowledge of inverter‑based resources (Wind, Solar, Battery Storage) and associated control In‑depth understanding of fundamentals of electric power systems and renewable energy, small‑signal and large‑signal control stability Strong organizational, interpersonal (written & verbal) skills, problem solving and analytical skills Ability to work in a dynamic team environment Strong written and verbal English communication skills (The employee would be required to draft and review internal documents in English to be used throughout North America) We conduct pre‑employment background screening “Considering that this position requires English proficiency, the recruitment process will be conducted in English.
