Vancouver, Canada Apera AI Full time

We are an innovative, Vancouver-based startup at the forefront of robotics, AI, and machine vision technologies. Backed by VC funding and we’ve been recognized with the 2025 Frost & Sullivan Technology Innovation Leadership Award, the AAM Supplier Excellence Innovation Award, and the 2024 BC Tech “Company of the Year – Growth”, we are on a mission to redefine the future of AI-driven robotic vision systems. Apera AI helps manufacturers make their factories more flexible and productive. Robots enhanced with Apera’s software have 4D Vision – the ability to see and handle objects with human‑like capability. Challenging applications such as bin picking, sorting, packaging, and assembly are now open to fast, precise, and reliable automation. Apera is led by an experienced team from high‑growth companies focused on robotics, artificial intelligence, and advanced manufacturing. Robots can do amazing things, if they can see. Apera AI builds breakthrough 4D Vision™ systems that give robots the clarity to handle complex, real‑world tasks. But robots don’t just need vision, they need the brains and software to act on it. That’s where you come in. We’re looking for a Full Stack Software Developer who thrives on building the tools that make AI-powered robotics real. Someone who can turn complex data, 3D vision, and simulation workflows into elegant, intuitive web applications that engineers love to use. This role is based in person at our Vancouver, BC office. You’ll be part of the team behind Apera Forge – our browser‑based simulation and development platform that lets customers design, test, and deploy robotic vision systems. Your work will bridge the gap between machine intelligence and human usability. This isn’t a typical software role. It’s bigger, faster, and closer to the action. At Apera AI, you’ll build front‑to‑back features that shape how robotic vision is deployed across industries worldwide. What You’ll Do Design and deliver: Build production‑ready features across the stack – from modern React UIs to scalable APIs and data services. Shape experiences: Turn complex 3D vision workflows into intuitive, high‑performance web interfaces used by robotics engineers. Integrate intelligence: Connect AI‑driven analytics and simulation data to Forge, enabling users to visualize, tune, and validate robotic performance. Collaborate cross‑functionally: Work with ML, robotics, and UX teams to design features that bridge AI algorithms and real‑world deployment tools. Optimize for speed and scale: Implement efficient data pipelines and automated testing to ensure reliability, maintainability, and fast iteration. Continuously improve: Apply user feedback and analytics to refine usability, reduce friction, and increase adoption. Why This Is a Career Move (Not Just a Job) At Apera, we don’t just build robots, we build the intelligence that helps them see, think, and act. Here’s What Makes This Role Special You’ll build where AI meets the real world. Your work powers the tools used by global manufacturers to deploy robotics faster and smarter. You’ll grow fast. Exposure to AI vision, 3D simulation, and scalable web architecture will expand your technical depth and creative problem‑solving. You’ll see your impact. Every feature you ship will help real engineers reduce downtime, speed up deployment, and unlock new automation possibilities. You’ll shape the product. Forge is still evolving – and your ideas will directly influence its future. Why You’ll Love It Here Purpose with impact: You’re not writing code in isolation. You’re building software that defines how robots see and work alongside people. Freedom to innovate: We move fast, test often, and expect you to bring fresh ideas that push the boundaries of what’s possible in robotics UX. Growth at the frontier: You’ll gain hands‑on experience across robotics, AI, simulation, and data‑driven development – all in one role. Culture that values curiosity: We’re a team of engineers, scientists, and builders who believe innovation comes from questioning assumptions. What We’re Looking For 3+ years of experience developing production‑grade software across frontend and backend environments. Proficiency in Python (Flask/FastAPI), React, TypeScript, and modern API design. Ability to translate user needs into polished, performant web applications. Comfort working with 3D data, simulation tools, or visualization frameworks. Strong communication skills and collaboration across disciplines. Bonus points: experience integrating AI‑driven tools, robotic simulation data, or real‑time visualization pipelines. Why Apera? Every employee is an owner – equity for all. A culture of curiosity: we experiment, learn fast, and share openly. Well‑funded and scaling quickly, with a recent Series A fuelling product expansion and new hires. High‑impact work with autonomy, visibility, and clear growth paths. Straightforward Compensation, Real Growth At Apera AI, we keep compensation as clear as our technology. We hire for impact – and reward it accordingly. Our total compensation range of $110,000 CAD – $150,000 CAD + per year, covers base salary and equity opportunities. We tailor offers based on more than resume years – we look at your unique skills, creative problem‑solving, and the impact you’ll as we reinvent industrial automation with AI‑powered vision systems. Transparency is our baseline; growth is our promise. Application Process Interviews: Take part in interviews conversations with our recruiters and managers to focus on real problem‑solving, how you work, and what you would like to achieve from this opportunity. Assessment: Complete a TestGorilla and technical (if needed) assessment(s). Background Check: A brief check is completed as required before an offer. Human Review: Your application is reviewed by real engineers and people‑team members who care about your growth. #J-18808-Ljbffr
