Software Development Engineer, PBI Supply Chain Innovation Become a key member of the PBI Supply Chain Tech team that helps Amazon Private Brands optimize the Amazon supply chain network through data science and code. In this role, you will build machine learning solutions at scale, collaborating with economists, scientists, and engineers to translate business requirements into highly scalable distributed services. Key Responsibilities Solve a breadth of technical problems at global scale. Own systems end‑to‑end and influence technology direction impacting hundreds of millions of customers worldwide. Contribute to technical strategies, vision, and architecture. Influence quantitative algorithms used (e.g., machine learning, reinforcement learning, computer vision) to make recommendations. Design and build software to train models in collaboration with applied science. Work with design and product teams to understand needs, propose features, create prototypes, and deliver consumer‑facing features. Write clean, maintainable code and perform peer code reviews. Deep‑Dive into client or server systems to optimize performance, maintainability, scalability, and extensibility. Propose innovative tools, frameworks, automations, and processes used by the entire team. Mentor team members to promote engineering excellence. Basic Qualifications 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience. 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems. Experience programming with at least one software programming language. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include equity, sign‑on payments, and other benefits.
