Our confidential municipal government client is seeking a ServiceNow ITOM Developer to design, develop, and implement solutions within the ServiceNow ITOM suite, including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and Cloud Management. The role will focus on modernising IT Operations and Event Monitoring, replacing legacy tools (e.g., Microfocus) with ServiceNow. Core Responsibilities Build and maintain ServiceNow applications using JavaScript, Glide API, and platform scripting. Configure ITOM modules (Discovery patterns, MID Servers, Service Mapping). Develop workflows, orchestration scripts, and automation for operational processes. Integrate ServiceNow with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, and middleware tools. Enable data exchange between CMDB and third‑party monitoring tools. Implement platform upgrades, patches, and new features; conduct unit testing. Ensure compliance with governance standards and maintain CMDB integrity. Work with stakeholders to define requirements and produce technical documentation. Support troubleshooting and provide knowledge transfer to operations teams. Essential Skills & Experience Strong proficiency in JavaScript, XML, HTML, CSS, and ServiceNow scripting. Deep understanding of ITOM modules: Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management. Experience with CMDB design and maintenance. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and hybrid environments. Experience with RESTful and SOAP web services, orchestration, and automation frameworks. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; effective communication; experience working in Agile environments. Certifications (Preferred) ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA). ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – ITOM. Optional: Certifications in Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, IntegrationHub. Advanced/Preferred Capabilities Expertise in Service Mapping for complex business services. Experience with Nuvolo, SAM Pro, and advanced ITOM orchestration. Ability to lead development efforts and mentor junior developers.
