We invite you to be part of this important work as Director, Patient Care Services (DPCS) for the Severe Mental Illness (SMI) Program. In this pivotal role, you will champion system collaboration, clinical excellence, and innovative models of care across multiple specialized services. Reporting to the Executive Director, the DPCS provides both operational and strategic leadership for the SMI Program, which includes Schizophrenia, Recovery, Community Mental Health, Interventional Psychiatry, and Youth Services. This is a dynamic and highly influential leadership position – responsible for not only overseeing clinical operations but also for shaping the program’s future direction. Working collaboratively with the Executive Director, Medical Leadership, and Practice Leaders in this newly established portfolio, the DPCS will advance initiatives that improve integration, access and flow, and the overall quality of patient care. Key Responsibilities Provide operational and strategic leadership across the SMI program to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. Lead and empower teams through strategic workforce planning, professional development, and a culture of engagement and excellence. Collaborate with medical and practice leaders to drive integration, access and system flow improvements. Oversee program budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation, financial accountability, and achievement of performance targets. Leverage data and performance analytics to inform decision-making, track outcomes, and drive quality improvements. Identify and manage operational and system risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards. Champion strategic and quality initiatives aligned with organizational and system priorities. Strengthen collaboration and partnerships within clinical services and across the system. Qualifications Master's degree in health care administration, Health Services Management, Nursing, Allied Health or related fields. Minimum 10 years in related healthcare field, including at least 5 years in management. Direct experience working with clients and families in program co-design and evaluation. Registration with relevant Professional Association or College. Broad knowledge of clinical services delivery, budgeting, workforce planning, and performance management. Experience with unionized environments and collective agreements. Proficient in strategic planning, program evaluation, quality improvement, and operational analytics. Familiarity with Clinical Informatics and digital health solutions. Expertise patient and workplace safety protocols. Ability to navigate provincial health networks and academic health science centers. Extensive leadership experience in mental health services, driving system-level strategies, and overseeing complex service portfolios is preferred. English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading comprehension and written expression. Bilingual (French/English) is preferred.
