As a Senior DevOps Principal Architect, you will be a key member of a newly established Ottawa-based R&D team. This team is part of our global 5G R&D organization, focusing on designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge technology to meet the demands of their 5G RAN subsystem for operators. You will play a crucial role in helping our customers exploit this significant market evolution. The ideal candidate will be skilled in setting direction and establishing DevOps practices for large-scale R&D projects.


Responsibilities:

  • Set direction for a team of over 20 developers, translating internal and external customer requirements into actionable stories.
  • Act as a key member of our agile team, providing expertise on best practices for tools, workflows, and DevOps automation.
  • Mentor and guide DevOps team members to help them perform at their best.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve the highest possible level of DevOps capability.


Essential Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in a large-scale R&D environment, performing DevOps activities such as tool selection, pipeline construction, and automation.
  • Highly organized, goal-oriented, and a self-starter with a strong team-focused mentality.
  • Proven experience in building capability in other team members.


Desirable Requirements:

  • 10+ years of career experience in DevOps or a combination of relevant education and work experience.
  • Demonstrated autonomy and leadership skills, pinging innovative ideas while fostering a collaborative environment.
