Your role: The Product Management team is responsible for executing product strategy, prioritizing and aligning roadmaps, and for researching and defining enhancements and upgrades to Global Relay products and services. They ensure our services solve important and urgent market problems. Global Relay requires an experienced Technical Product Manager (“TPM”) to assume ownership of Global Relay’s Identity and Access Management product line (“IAM”). In this role you will be the bridge for a small, highly focused, cross-functional agile team and the rest of the TPMs, Product Management and stakeholders to deliver on the product roadmap, and to drive new products and features through the development process. Working with Product Management, the TPM will define detailed business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for specific features, and collaborate with their Team Leads, Architects, and UI/UX to ensure high quality designs are produced. TPMs will also attend daily stand‑ups, refine their team’s backlog, plan sprints, accept completed stories, monitor progress, report status, and be involved in key release activities including documentation and training. Working closely with our Vancouver and Kelowna, Canada based IAM teams to continuously improve and support our current Administration, Identity and Access Management product. Your responsibilities: Working in a dynamic team environment, the TPM is responsible for: Triaging incoming tickets and assigning them to the correct owner Following up on status of projects, stories, tasks, dependencies and risks Collaborating with and sharing status reports with the Product and DevOps Manager Addressing impediments by connecting appropriate stakeholders Coordinating meetings with external vendors Assisting with the generation of reports, Wiki pages, and other artifacts that provide transparency into project status Owning the up and down responsibility for the delivery of their component / feature for Administration, Identity and Access Management Serving as primary product expert (functional, not technical) for the components for which you are responsible Creating work estimates, tracking progress, and reporting status in the form of burn up/down charts and dashboards Collaborating with senior product management, sales, support, clients, and other TPMs to produce and manage their component’s backlog and contribute to the product roadmap Lead the strategic development of new features and enhancements with ownership and development of a product roadmap Translating product roadmap initiatives and feature requests into requirements, models, workflow diagrams, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and other suitable artifacts Identifying and coordinating cross‑component dependencies throughout the development process Working with Product & Program Management, Development, and other departments to actively remove obstacles blocking progress and ensuring product initiatives are within schedule Supporting Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Provisioning, Professional Services, Technical Documentation, Training, and Technical Support throughout their release process with training, documentation, announcements, and other release activities Prioritizing and refining their team(s) backlog Attending regular sync ups with your product manager and other TPMs in your product team Leading sprint planning for your Agile team(s) Attending daily stand‑ups, refinement sessions, demos, retrospectives and other meetings with your Agile team(s) Understanding the design, business logic, and technical architecture of their platform components and how those components interact with the rest of the platform Serving as the primary product expert for the components for which you are responsible Experience with any of the following is considered an asset: Software Key Management services Security, Authentication, Authorization, or Cryptography Designing security first and around audit requirements Administration and/or Identity and Access Management products and services Delivering micro services Large scale performance and scalability About you: 3-5 years of experience as a project manager or project co‑coordinator Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field. Adaptability to working with multiple teams on projects with varying degrees of flexibility/rigidity at different points in the development cycle Experience with Agile and Scrum development methodologies Experience with enterprise software and Software‑As‑A‑Service (SaaS) Ability to understand technical as well as business requirements and accurately capture technical notes and use them to update work tickets Demonstrate a history of being able to work effectively with groups with different levels of technical and process experience Ability to coordinate multiple inter‑related projects Experience leading cross‑team initiatives and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization Experience planning, monitoring, and reporting on project status for multiple initiatives/teams Strong requirement elicitation, analysis, domain modelling, use case modeling, workflow design, and documentation skills Nice to have: Experience as a software developer/engineer Experience working with reporting tools Experience with a SaaS, messaging or enterprise software company Experience delivering projects using Java, open source, big data technologies (distributed storage, computation, search, queue, etc.) Experience driving cross‑team initiatives and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization Strong requirement elicitation, analysis, domain modelling, use case modeling, workflow design, and documentation skills Compensation: Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in compliance with British Columbia’s pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as expertise, skills, education, and professional background. The range below reflects the expected annual base salary, which is only one element of our comprehensive total rewards package designed to reflect our company pay philosophy, culture and values.
