The Calgary Engineering and Research teams at Intermap maintain and support Geospatial production systems, and provide Geomatics based solutions for Intermap. This Geomatics Engineer (EIT) is a highly motivated and driven individual who can work in a team‑oriented environment and independently with minimal supervision. The engineer will research, develop, deploy, and maintain geospatial products and solutions for our global digital elevation datasets. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide Geomatics expertise and solutions (i.e., projections, datum transformations, geoids, resampling, etc.) Support software development and research for all scientific applications, including lifecycle support Gain familiarity with Intermap’s enterprise workflow, production tools and processes Collaborate with senior engineers to develop focused products and solutions Identify and implement efficiency improvements to existing systems based on priorities and ROI Engage with projects and initiatives to deliver results on time, on budget and to customer satisfaction Apply research, engineering, and development expertise to provide needed solutions Maintain and implement development standards, best practices, processes, documentation, and configuration management Identify support issues or needs, and provide resolution—including improvement opportunities Communicate and share information within lead engineering teams SKILL REQUIREMENTS Excellent communication, listening, and organizational skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision Maintain friendly and helpful relations with the whole team—be the go‑to person Provide customer‑facing support and communication—focus on customer satisfaction Actively pursue and understand all team activities—stay in the loop Excellent troubleshooting and analysis skills with a focus on root‑cause determination Leverage and work closely within the engineering expertise pool to provide the right solution—promote teamwork Focus on quality and act quickly to keep on schedule Show enthusiasm as a self‑starter and self‑motivated individual Ensure follow‑through to completion on engineering, research, and support activities TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS Strong data analysis and reporting skills Strong understanding of geodesy Experience with one or more GIS packages (e.g., Global Mapper, ArcGIS) Experience with Matlab and Excel Experience supporting production or customers (asset) Experience with support tracking systems and metrics reporting (asset) Experience with C and C++ (asset) Experience with Python and machine learning (asset) EDUCATION & TRAINING B.Sc. in Geomatics Engineering Eligibility to be registered as an EIT with APEGA SENIORITY LEVEL Entry level EMPLOYMENT TYPE Full‑time JOB FUNCTION Engineering and Information Technology #J-18808-Ljbffr
