EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY The Town of Magrath is seeking applications to fill a permanent full-time Laborer/Operator position. The successful candidate will work in a team environment and will be responsible for duties as directed by the Public Works Foreman. Duties would include assisting with maintenance and operation of all Town-owned facilities, including waste transfer station, water and sewer lines, roads and parks. There is some crossover work with the associated Parks and Recreation Department as needed. Closing Date December 22nd @ 5:00 p.m. Compensation Starting Wage: $21.50 Full time – 40 hours a week. Schedule to be determined. Full time employees are enrolled in a comprehensive benefits plan after three months of employment. After one year of employment, a full time employee will also be enrolled into the Local Authorities Pension Plan. Required Qualifications • Class 5 drivers license; • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions; • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted; • Willingness to work in a team environment and perform other duties as required; • Required to participate in on-call rotations. Preferred Qualifications • An understanding of the mechanical function of machinery and equipment associated with municipal operations; • Construction and maintenance knowledge of roads, sidewalks and other related municipal infrastructure; • Class 3 driver’s license. Working Conditions Typically, an outdoor work environment with frequent exposure to inclement weather, dirt, dust, noise, and vibration.
