Director of Finance Apply to join LRDG Language Research Development Group, a leading Canadian language learning platform based in Montreal. As our Director of Finance you will play a key role on the senior management team, leading and managing Accounting and FP&A functions. Key Responsibilities Accounting and Reporting (45%): Manage a team of five, oversee the timely and accurate production of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for LRDG and related entities. Process Improvement & Operational Excellence (20%): Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems, enhance efficiency and scalability for each client; lead new accounting system selection and integration. Financial Planning & Analysis (15%): Lead all FP&A initiatives, build and transform the FP&A process, infrastructure, templates, and KPIs, ensuring alignment with business objectives; conduct in-depth analyses to guide key decisions. Cash Flow Management (5%): Monitor and optimize cash flow to ensure financial stability and proper funding for day‑to‑day operations and strategic projects. Compliance & Controls (5%): Ensure all financial operations comply with applicable accounting standards (ASPE) and implement internal controls to safeguard assets. Cost Management (5%): Monitor and control operational costs, advise on cost‑reduction opportunities and improved performance. Audit Support (5%): Manage and coordinate internal and external audits to ensure accurate and transparent reporting. Qualifications Experience: 7+ years in finance & accounting, including senior roles (Controller, FP&A Manager, Finance Director); at least 2 years as a Controller and 2 years in an FP&A capacity. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA certification is an asset. Leadership: Strong professional and interpersonal skills, comfortable influencing senior management, owners, and founders. Self‑starter: Ability to build new processes, map and improve financial operations, transform FP&A infrastructure, define risks and opportunities, and manage projects to completion. Skills: Deep understanding of financial operations, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting; expert‑level proficiency in Excel and financial software (ERP and accounting systems). Attributes: Strong attention to detail, highly organized, proactive problem‑solver, excellent communication skills, results‑driven, resourceful, curious, and eager to learn and adapt. Strategic Thinker: Hands‑on approach, capable of diving into details when needed, and effectively presenting complex financial data in a clear, compelling manner.
