System Validation Engineer

Overview EE Systems Validation Engineer develops electrical system validation test plans and procedures for automotive body, audio, active chassis, and/or safety systems. Responsibilities Develop electrical system validation test plans and procedures for automotive body, audio, active chassis, and/or safety systems. Use CAN testing tools and traditional electrical testing equipment in an electrical lab atmosphere to test and troubleshoot vehicle systems. Design automated test benches to support the above systems. Troubleshoot complex automotive electrical issues. Requirements Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent. ASIL Classification/Functional Safety (ISO26262) process experience. Understanding cybersecurity requirements. Familiarity with CAN, LIN, Ethernet bus interface specifications. Experience using CANoe and CANcase tools. Proficiency in schematic and PCB layout review. Experience working with cross‑functional areas to develop lamp electronics design proposals and options. Design exterior lighting electronics hardware to interface with vehicle electrical architecture. Support root‑cause analysis of electronics failures, including component tests, pre‑production properties and launch/current product. Coordinate and conduct benchmarking to support design direction competitiveness. Support technical discussions for advanced component or technology development. Product development team leadership experience and program management of new subsystem experience required. Communication skills to provide information to/from internal teams (PDT, regular program meetings, scheduled peer reviews, program gate reviews) and external customers. Create and support Interface Control Document requirements for component and subsystem interfaces; assist/lead Electronics Product Development Team meetings. Capable of crossing USA/Canada border and attending in‑person meetings at Chicago Tool Center (CTC) and all plants. Additional Information / Must haves Candidate must be able to work 100% onsite at the Anytown Research & Development Center (ARDC) and be located in Michigan. Driving a vehicle for testing on a track or moving vehicles within the facility or to other plant locations is required. Travel to Mexico or US supplier plants possible.
