Power Distribution Design Team Lead Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada Primary Opportunity As a technical leader in Stantec’s Power Distribution Design Team, you will focus on project excellence, working closely with the design team on all types of power distribution projects and programs. Your leadership will ensure projects meet and exceed client expectations. Your Key Responsibilities Ensure client expectations related to project scope are met and exceeded. Establish and maintain positive internal and external stakeholder relationships. Develop project planning documents and client progress reports. Support development of proposals, project cost estimates and schedules. Coordinate and/or facilitate key meetings or review points (project kick‑off, IFR/IFC review, constructability review, construction kick‑off, etc.) and follow all action items through to completion. Provide proactive project change, risk and stakeholder management support. Act as the primary technical interface for the projects and provide advice and guidance to the engineering disciplines. Ensure procurement packages are produced in accordance with project cost, schedule and quality requirements. Review project documentation and perform Engineer of Record duties (specifications, IFR/IFC drawings, designs, equipment lists, labor estimates, etc.) prior to issue for accuracy, completeness and presentation. Apply proactive and effective communication with key stakeholders. Apply knowledge and expertise acquired through progressive experience to resolve complex issues where precedent may be limited. Provide construction support activities. Travel to sites as required; a valid driver’s license is required. Your Capabilities and Credentials Registered Professional Engineer or Engineering Licensee. Excellent organizational and communication (written and oral) skills. Team player who encourages collaboration with project teams and other disciplines. Strong technical and problem‑solving skills. In‑depth knowledge of overhead and underground distribution systems, streetlight design, capital and maintenance projects, and customer new‑connect projects. Experience managing multiple projects concurrently. High initiative and ability to complete tasks on schedule and within budget. Capability to challenge specifications and non‑optimal designs, providing value‑added alternatives. Commitment to continuous improvement and timely quality service delivery. Knowledge of project management principles and processes. Experience in project controls and scheduling is considered an asset. Working knowledge of applicable industry, national, and provincial codes and standards. Proficiency with SAP, GIS tools, Bluebeam, AGI 32, Pull Planner. Experience & Background Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a technical school diploma/certificate, with a minimum of 7 years of experience. Registered P.Eng with EGBC (required). Previous Distribution Design experience with BC Hydro or a similar utility within Canada. Pay Range Locations in Lower Mainland, BC, GTA & Ottawa, Ontario – $94,600.00 – $137,100.00 Annually.
