Your missions

Hello, I am Charlotte, Recruitment and Business Development Advisor at Fed Finance, a recruitment firm specializing in recruitment for finance, accounting and payroll professions.
I work on two types of recruitment: temporary and permanent in the Greater Montreal region.
Our team, experts in finance, speak your language and operate in your world.
I am looking for a director of finance, for my client in Montreal. This is a permanent position.
Your responsibilities will be:
- Leads the Finance Department personnel, which includes an accountant and an accounts
payable clerk and makes any necessary hires.
- Implements or supports the implementation of processes and technologies related to
finance.
- Brings improvements within the accounting and finance department, and implements
processes and policies as needed.
- Work closely with the General Manager to ensure the organism has sound financial
controls in place, reconciles its restricted funds regularly, practices sound procurement
standards, and documents all purchases, expenditures, and distribution of goods.
- Reviews the comparative financial statements, investigates variances and, if applicable,
advises the General Manager of any concerns.
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements for the Board and the
- Supervises the process to track salaries covered by various grants.
- Review and approves all account payables and account receivables documents, then
ensures the signature of the Executive Director.
- Supervises the documenting of information needed and leads the audit with the auditors.
- Prepares cash flow statements for the Board of Directors and Finance Committee, plans
and ensures for the availability of funds as needed for the various sites and programs.
- Develops financial business plans, creates forecasts, and uses KPIs to monitor the
organization’s financial performance in a timely manner.
- Develops and executes a reporting and payment schedule of capital expenditures.
- Oversees banking relationships, investments, and loans.
- Leads the annual and departmental budgets process, which includes revenue, program
expenses, administrative expenses, operating costs, and capital expenditures.
- Advises General Manager of any necessary budget modifications throughout
the fiscal year.
- Oversees the preparation of budgets for grant requests, requests for proposals, and
prepares financial reports for grant reports
- Sets up and implements a master and comprehensive schedule of all restricted and
unrestricted grants and major gifts that is updated on a regular basis and allows access by
multiple people to determine the budget and the schedule for remaining allocations to
unspent costs.
- Provides the leaders of the departments an update of their monthly departmental budget
and use of restricted program revenues.
- Provides General Manager with weekly, monthly, and quarterly revenue reports and cast
benefit ratio.
- Prepares for the Board monthly financial package with income statements, balance sheet,
cashflow statements, and variance-from-budget commentary and any reporting needs.
- Provides insight and recommendations based on financial outlook and impact.

Your profile

- CPA, an asset
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- 5 years experience in a similar field
- French and English required
- Leadership and proactivity
