Warehouse Supervisor

Our client, in Bowmanville, is currently looking to add a Warehouse Supervisor to their newly opened warehouse.
Warehouse Supervisor/Associate Responsibilities:
- Oversee the general operations of a warehouse and its staff; provide support when required
- Supervise warehouse staff; assign workloads and daily tasks to warehouse operators
- Manage incoming and outgoing traffic
- Communicate with head office and sales staff to answer questions and troubleshoot problems
- Receive inventory into system and check packaging conditions
- Monitor and order supplies and equipment as needed for shipping orders
- Improve and optimize processes and workflows
- Ensure orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately
- Fully trained and able to operate forklifts
- Train and evaluate employees on warehouse processes
- Oversee receiving and dispatching procedures for shipments
- Implement and maintain safety processes and programs
- Monitor warehouse associates to ensure safety procedures are being followed when operating forklifts and other machinery
Qualifications and Skills:
- Team management experience
- Have previous experience working with chemicals and/or other hazardous materials
- Proficient with Microsoft 365, Excel, and warehouse management system
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Strong communication, interpersonal skill, leadership, and conflict resolution
- Strong knowledge of modern warehousing practices and methods
- Critical thinking ability and a proactive approach to problem solving
- Capable of heavy lifting as needed- Understanding of supply chain operations
- Able to operate forklift and cherry picker equipment, familiar with the transfer of powders or liquid chemical products from totes to drums or pails or from big bags to small bags
Education and/or Experience:
- 3+ years of combined management experience in Warehousing or Third Party Logistics
- Proven track record of managing at least 5 warehouse employees
- Experience with inventory control, inventory reconciliation, and cycle counting
